This is a page where you introduce yourself – where you are from, your interests, what drew you to your studies in adventure tourism at TRU, and what you hope to accomplish. It’s also the front page of your ePortfolio, and the first thing people will read about you. Your ‘About Me’ pages can have a mix of text and images of yourself to help you tell your story.
Make sure you orient readers to what this ePortfolio site is for. This is a site that you will use to show all you know, your skills, and what you like about the tourism industry. The site will also provide documentation for future employers or for continuing your career in academia.
The photo above is the Featured Image for this Page; you’ll see where to edit it on the Edit Page. You can choose any image you like for this space — as long as you have the rights to use it! — or you can choose to have no image at all, like the Resume page.
A website like Unsplash is a good place to go to find interesting images that you can use freely on your own website. This one is by Holly Mandarich. Make sure you give credit when you do make use of someone else’s work. If you are unsure whether you can use someone else’s work, the following resource may be helpful.
